PHAEDRA Project
Bureau of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection launched the PHAEDRA project (Improving practical and helpful cooperation between data protection authorities) co-funded by the European Commission under the programme Fundamental Rights and Citizenship "Action grants" 2011-2012 (JUST/ 2011-2012/FRC/AG) coordinated by DG Justice.
The project is realised in cooperation with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (project coordinator), UK Trilateral Research & Consulting LLP (partner) and Spanish Universitat Jaume I (partner). The basic objective of the project is to identify the problems hampering cooperation between particular data protection authorities and other state entities dealing with this issue as well as to draw up recommendations aimed at improving the situation. As a result the project will contribute to improving co-operation and co-ordination between all stakeholders. The duration of the project is 24 months.
The first project partners meeting was held on 22 January 2013 at the premises of Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels.
